Black and White Wedding Photography
There is just something about Black and White Wedding Photography that I adore. Black and white wedding photography doesn’t go in and out of trend like some of the other editing styles offered today. The beauty of black and white wedding photography has already passed the test of time, and there are still many couples who opt for their wedding photos to be delivered exclusively in black and white. I love back and white images, I shoot pretty much all my personal work in black and white and have spent hours admiring the work from some of my favourite black and white photographers, Larry Louie and Fan Ho as an example.
Why I Love Black & White Wedding Photography
For me, it’s all about simplicity. By eliminating such a significant element from a photo (colour), the image gets stripped of complexity. I believe this makes it easier for the viewer to focus on the subject, the emotion and mood within the image that is captured by the contrasts between shadow and light.
Creating Beautiful Black and White Photography
I’m often looking for simplicity when I shoot in black and white, I love simple compositions and moments, as with many things less can be so much more in photography. None of this is to say I don’t also love photographs in colour, and I always provide my couples with a mix of both colour and black and white wedding photography.
If you are looking for a Black and White Wedding Photographer and would like to find out more about my style and approach, please feel free to contact me. I shoot mainly unobtrusive candid documentary wedding photography which focuses on the special moments and emotions from your big day. Although I am passionate about documenting the day as it unfolds, I always find time to spend with the newlyweds to produce some intimate and unique couples portraits that can make beautiful prints or full-page spreads in a wedding album.
“Josh is very talented in how he can capture special moments, the candid shots from our wedding were incredibly beautiful. Josh was a pleasure to deal with, on the day itself he co-ordinated guests in a very polite manner. In the evening, he took candid shots of our guests and during this time we didn’t even notice him”
