Natural Wedding Photographer
I’m often talking with brides who tell me; they are specifically looking for a Natural wedding photographer. I always love to hear this and believe its a good indication that we will be a great fit. The approach adopted by a photographer can not only impact the images from your wedding but also create a completely different experience on your day. Considering and selling one’s self as a natural wedding photographer means setting certain expectations of the photographer’s style. Here are a couple of things that you can expect when working with a natural wedding photographer.
A Focus on the Candid Moments
I tell the couples that I work with that I aim to spend approximately 90% of the wedding day taking candid shots of them and their guests. My focus in on emotion, interactions and trying to capture real moments of beauty that can often get lost in the bustle of a wedding day. I believe a wedding day is a primarily a celebration and my approach is to interfere with this as little as possible. There are times when I am required to help coordinate guests to ensure I get a particular shot that the couple has requested. I will never stress your wedding guests in an attempt to stage a shot. When dealing with guest, my approach is always friendly, relaxed and most of all, professional.
A Natural style of Posing
Many of the couples I speak with are not initially interested in doing any portraits or posed shots on their wedding day. Although this would make my job easier, I always try to persuade my couples to consider sparing 30-45 minutes for a portrait session after the ceremony. I believe if this gets missed it may be something that the couple may regret at a later date. I am camera shy myself so can relate to those that are not comfortable posing for portraits. My approach to this is to guide the couple through a series of simple poses but to shoot the little moments of genuine emotion that happen during the session.
“Josh is very talented in how he can capture special moments, the candid shots from our wedding were incredibly beautiful. Josh was a pleasure to deal with, on the day itself he co-ordinated guests in a very polite manner. In the evening, he took candid shots of our guests and during this time we didn’t even notice him”David & Rasheda
